Are you preparing for a dental appointment with us? Whether you’re a returning or transfer patient you will find some helpful tips in this article. Prepare to take some notes we are about to help you get ready for your dental appointment.
- Gather the Information We Will Need
In order for us to properly assist you we ask that you jot down any medications or health changes. Providing this information will allow for Dr. Peter Castellana to recommend/use treatments, medications and etc. that will not act against your previous medications or health conditions. Also, bring valid identification, your current insurance card if you wish to use insurance and your preferred the method of payment in case you have to pay for any services during your visit. If you would like to find out ahead of time if you have a copayment that needs to be paid before we can provide you with our services contact your insurance provider or give us a call, we would be happy to assist you.
- Preparing for a Procedure
If you are scheduled for a surgery with us feel free to give us a call before your visit to make sure you are prepared. Some questions you may want to ask are…
- Should I eat before I come?
- How long after the procedure will I be able to eat?
- What kinds of foods will be best for me to eat after my procedure?
- Do I need to have someone come with me to help me after the procedure?
And of course any other questions you may have. We want you to be comfortable, relaxed and prepared so we don’t mind answering your questions.
- Transfer Patients
It is highly recommended that you contact your previous dentist office and ask them to send us your records. Even if you are aware of your current dental health status or needs its best if we have your records because they contain medical information that we need to review and analyze before we service you. This may sound like a lot but don’t get discouraged all you have to do is authorize us to have your records and we will take care of the rest. Call us for details about the best method of delivery.
- Arrive Early
Do your best to arrive early. Sometimes we may have forms for you to fill out. Even if we do not have forms for you to fill out it’s always best to arrive early so you can relax and get comfortable.
- Dental Concerns
When you have concerns or questions feel free to jot them down and bring them with you to your visit. This will allow for us to be able to address all of your concerns in one sitting.
- Clean Your Mouth
Come with your mouth clean; we hold our patients accountable to practice good healthy oral habits.
We hope you’ve found this cheat sheet helpful. We look forward to seeing you soon. Don’t hesitate to contact us, we’re a phone call or email away.
